About Camp Sonlight
Facilities include air-conditioned
and heated dormitories and staff house capable of accommodating
128 people, an outdoor chapel, outdoor barbecue facilities, outdoor
pavilion and craft hut. Also included are air-conditioned and heated
kitchen, dining hall, and social hall with stage, which will seat
approximately 200 people. All facilities accommodate the handicapped.
Recreational areas include a large swimming pool, ball field, volley
ball courts, basketball sports court, and many acres for other outdoor
recreational activities.
Camp Sonlight is owned
and operated by the Florida Primitive Baptist Deacon's Association,
Incorporated, a non-profit Florida corporation that provides ministerial
support to the Progressive Primitive Baptist Churches of Florida.
A 15-member Board of Trustees is appointed to manage the day-to-day
affairs of Camp Sonlight.
Camp Sonlight does not
offer staff nor programs for our renters. Use of the pool requires
a Red Cross certified life saving professional. The pool is open
from May through September only. Our resident site managers are
here to assist your staff with the safe and effective operations
of the camp. As a privately-held corporation and facility, we reserve
the right to refuse service to anyone.
Lessee's of Camp Sonlight
will be required to execute the Rental Contract found on the Rental
Documents page. A deposit is required to reserve Camp Sonlight
for your event. Please view our Activities Calendar to determine
available dates at Camp Sonlight. Lessee's will also be required
to provide liability insurance coverage for their campers. Please
see the Rental Contract, Section K, for details.
